“I’m fat,” said Mrs. Large. “我太胖了，”拉吉夫人说。

“No You’re not, “ said Lester “不，你不胖啊，”莱斯特说。

“You’re our cuddly mommy,”said Laura 你是我们可爱的妈妈“， 劳拉说

“You’re just right,” said Luke. 劳拉说得对，卢克说

“We must all go on a diet,” said Mrs Large.我们必须都要开始控制饮食了，拉吉夫人说。

“No more cake. No morecookies. No more potato chips. No more sitting around all day. From now on,it’s healthy living. 不能再吃蛋糕。不能再吃饼干。不能再吃薯片。不能再整天坐着。从今天起，要健康生活。

“Mommy’s got wobbly bits,”said the baby. 妈妈有一对摇晃的胸，小宝宝说

Exactly,” said Mrs. Large.“As I was saying – I’m fat. ”“没错。”拉吉夫人说，“就像我说的，我太胖了”

“Can we watch TV?” askedLester, as they trooped in from school.我们可以看电视吗?莱斯特问道，他们放学了，正一起回到家里。

“Certainly not!” said Mrs.Large. “We’re all off for a nice healthy jog around the park.” And they were.

It wasawful. Every morning there was a healthy breakfast followed by exercises. Thenthere was a healthy snack followed by a healthy jog. By the time evening cameeveryone felt terrible.

One morninga parcel arrived. It was a cake from Granny. Everyone started at it hopefully.Mrs. Large put it into the cupboard on a high shelf. “Just in case we havevisitors,” she said sternly.

Mrs. Largecrept out of bed and went downstairs to the kitchen. She took a knife out ofthe drawer and opened the cupboard. There was only one piece of cake left!

拉吉夫人偷偷溜下床，下楼去了厨房。

她从抽屉里拿出刀，打开了壁橱。

只剩一块蛋糕了!

“Ah ha!”said Mr. Large, seeing the knife. “Caught in the act!”

Mrs. Largeswitched on the light and saw Mr. Large and all the children hiding under thetable.

“There isone piece left,” said Laura in a helpful way.

“啊哈!”拉吉先生说，他看到了拿着刀的拉吉夫人。

“抓了个现行!”

拉吉夫人打开了灯看到拉吉先生和孩子们藏在桌子底下。

“还有一块蛋糕呢，” 劳拉开心地说。

Mrs. Largebegan to laugh. “We’re all as bad as each other!” she said, eating the lastpiece of cake before anyone else did.

“I do thinkelephants are meant to be fat,” said Luke.

“I thinkyou’re probably right, dear,” said Mrs. Large.

“Wibblywobbly wibbly wobbly!” went the baby.

拉吉夫人开始大笑。

“我们都是小坏坏噢!”

赶在其他人下手之前，拉吉夫人吃掉了最后一块蛋糕。
